Mathilde Cappelli

DOCTORANTE

I have been since September 2022 a PhD student at the AV¶ÌÊÓƵ. My dissertation is devoted to the nature of sexual desire and its distinctive affective and imaginative dimensions. I am working on it in the context of Professors Julien Deonna, Bence Nanay, and Fabrice Teroni’s “Emotion and Mental Imagery” SNF funded research project.

I worked from September 2021 to September 2022 as an overhead assistant at the Philosophy Department of the AV¶ÌÊÓƵ, and I have been since then a member of the Thumos research group on emotions, values and norms.

My other research interests are, in the main, philosophy of mind and philosophy of fiction, and in particular fiction-directed emotions.
