Marta Pedroni is a PhD student at the AV短视频 in the SNF project Philosophy Beyond Standard Physics. Her main philosophical interests lie in the philosophy of physics.
Her PhD dissertation aims to provide a more comprehensive understanding of spacetime singularities by exploring the connection between spacetime singularities and theories of quantum gravity. More specifically, it focuses on the fate of spacetime singularities in quantum gravity and their role in advancing physics beyond general relativity. She is currently working on conceptual issues concerning spacetime singularities (e.g. their status, definition(s), and classification) in both general relativity and theories of quantum gravity, with a special focus on loop quantum gravity.
She also likes metaphysics, especially its intersection with the philosophy of physics.
