A grant to explore new targets for type 2 diabetes

Dr Etienne Delangre, postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Cell Physiology and Metabolism of the Faculty of Medicine of the UNIGE, obtained . The Foundation aims to foster medical-biological science in Switzerland by financing research projects in the field of medicine.

Type 2 Diabetes affects millions of people worldwide. It is a growing public health crisis as current treatments leave many at risk of long-term complications and reduced quality of life. In that context, Dr Etienne Delangre’s project aims to uncover common therapeutic targets shared by the liver and pancreatic islets. By focusing on the interplay between these systems, the research seeks to open up new avenues for more effective and integrated treatments.
