En amphithéâtre, le cours manquait de rythme. L'enseignant a mis en place un logiciel permettant d'annoter en direct son support de présentation ainsi qu'une plateforme de vote.

Situation de départ

Le cours en grand amphithéâtre manquait de rythme. La grande passivité des étudiant-es empêchait un apprentissage efficace.

Mise en place et déroulement

Utilisation par l’enseignant du logiciel , un logiciel permettant d’écrire en live, d’annoter son support de présentation. Cela va permettre de rythmer l’apprentissage et d’être plus interactif avec les étudiant-es.

Mise en place également du vote en ligne avec la plateforme . Moyen de faire travailler les étudiant-es en groupe, affichage des réponses en direct.

Les 2 outils vont favoriser une plus grande participation des étudiant-es, ils/elles arrivent rapidement pendant le cours à savoir ce qu’ils/elles ont compris ou pas (et pas une fois qu’ils/elles révisent leur cours chez eux).

Retour et conseils

Ces deux technologies sont très faciles à utiliser, l’enseignant les a adoptées car elles répondaient à un besoin avec un grand effectif. Elles peuvent être adoptées sans avoir à changer drastiquement son cours. Si la technologie plaît alors on peut repenser petit à petit la façon dont on structure et on donne son cours pour aller vers plus d’interaction.

Un désavantage d’Openboard est qu’il m’a rendu plus statique dans mon enseignement. Attention à ne pas abuser de l’utilisation de Pingo pour de pas trop hacher son cours, nécessité de trouver le bon rythme !

Avis des étudiant-es

« Le fait de pouvoir suivre les notes en direct sur Openboard permet de voir toutes les étapes que suit l’enseignant dans son raisonnement avec la possibilité de l’interrompre à tout moment si on ne comprend pas. Si une étape n’est pas claire, on peut lui demander plus de précisions ce qui est intéressant pour l’apprentissage. »

« Le fait de pouvoir interagir avec Pingo apporte beaucoup à la compréhension du cours et permet d’éviter des incompréhensions. »

« Ces outils ont un côté rassurant, on voit tout ce que le professeur fait et attend de nous. On se sent moins submergé et on a moins peur de poser des questions. »

Short description (~250 chars)

In the large lecture hall, the course lacked rhythm. the course lacked rhythm. The teacher set up a software that permitted live annotation of his presentation material as well as a voting platform.

Initial situation

The course in the large lecture hall lacked rhythm. The great passivity of the students impeded effective learning.

Project implementation

Use by the teacher of the software, a software allowing to write in live, to annotate its support of presentation. This will allow to pace the learning and to be more interactive with the students.
He also set up online voting with the platform. This is a way to make students work in groups and to display the answers live.
The 2 tools will encourage greater student participation, they will quickly know during the course what they have understood or not (and not once they have revised their course at home).

Thoughts and advice

These 2 technologies are very easy to use, I adopted them because they answered a need with a large workforce. They can be adopted without having to drastically change the course. If you like the technology, then you can gradually rethink the way you structure and teach your course to move towards more interaction.
One disadvantage of Openboard is that it has made me more static in my teaching. Be careful not to abuse the use of Pingo so as not to chop up your course too much, you need to find the right rhythm!
