Valérie Gabelica obtained her bachelor's degree in chemistry, followed by a doctorate in science in 2002 at the AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Liège in Belgium. After a post-doctoral fellowship in Frankfurt with the Von Humboldt Foundation, she returned to Belgium to join the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory in Liège, where she obtained a permanent position as a qualified FNRS researcher in 2005. Valérie Gabelica joined the European Institute of Chemistry and Biology (IECB, France) in January 2013, as Inserm Research Director, before being promoted to Research Director 1st class. She has also been Director of the IECB since 2021.
Valérie Gabelica was awarded an ERC Consolidator grant in 2014, as well as several prestigious prizes. With over 150 scientific publications to her credit, she is a recognized expert in the field of mass spectrometry (MS) and native MS in particular.
Valérie Gabelica will be appointed full professor on January 1, 2024. From that date, she will hold a Chair in Pharmaceutical Analytical Sciences at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Western Switzerland (ISPSO).
