Après l'adoption de l'Agenda 2030 et de ses ODD, le rôle essentiel des organisations commerciales dans la création d'une croissance économique durable et inclusive et dans la réalisation des ODD est incontesté. En conséquence, les dernières décennies ont vu, du continent américain au continent européen, une multiplication de nouvelles organisations (comme les "benefit corporations") capables de réunir des objectifs sociaux et environnementaux avec des approches commerciales. Le projet de recherche se concentre sur l'analyse des différentes formes et structures de sociétés et le développement possible d'un modèle d'entité uniforme (au niveau régional ou international), ainsi que sur la nécessité d'introduire ou non en Suisse des formes de sociétés dédiées telles que les "benefit corporations" ou d'introduire des statuts spéciaux.
