An inspiring seminar from Pr. Boland
On Tuesday 22nd of November 2022, , Department of Molecular Biology, AV¶ÌÊÓƵ, invited by Pr. Patrick MERALDI, gave a conference entitled .
He presented his innovative structural biology methods and explained how they enabled him to solve for the first time the molecular structure of a key enzyme for cell division, human separase. Pr. Andreas Boland also explained how, in collaboration with scientists from Pr. Miriam Stoeber's laboratory, the molecular structure of a nanobody could be determined.
In general, his research group leverages the latest developments in Structural Biology, and in particular cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) with complementary biophysical techniques (proteomics, light-microscopy, microfluidics, etc.), to address complex biological questions in the field of cell cycle regulation and cell signaling.
