March 6: PhD defence of Mrs Amber Brauer

On March 6, Mrs Amber Brauer successfully defended her PhD thesis entitled. Her thesis was conducted under the direction of Prof. Anne-Claude Gavin, professor in the Department of Cell physiology and metabolism and Prof. Michael Zimmermann, professor at the EMBL Heidelberg.
The enterohepatic cycle is the body’s recycling system for bile acids—after aiding in fat digestion, they’re absorbed in the intestines and sent back to the liver for reuse. This loop is crucial for efficient digestion, conserving energy, and maintaining a balanced metabolism.
