Prof. Ptak studied clinical and cognitive psychology at the AV¶ÌÊÓƵ of Bern, obtaining his degree in 1996 and completing his doctorate in 1998. His doctoral thesis focused on unconscious memory and its disruptions following brain lesions. In 1999, he joined the Neuropsychology-Logopedics Unit of the Neurorehabilitation Service at the Geneva AV¶ÌÊÓƵ Hospitals (HUG), where he became the head of the unit in 2001.
