Bio sketch

I am a paediatrician and neonatologist trained both in Switzerland and in Australia (Monash Medical Centre). As head of the Neonatology Unit of the Geneva AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ Hospitals I am in charge of a busy 21 bed NICU serving a >4000 delivery labour ward.

The main focus of my research is perinatal lung adaptation and neonatal resuscitation but also developmental care, and my focus is currently on epidemiological studies. I have published some 70 articles in national and international scientific journals.

I have extensive experience in the field of neonatal education, particularly in medical simulation, including crew resource management and nursing education with more than 160 hours/year.

I am active in several humanitarian projects to reduce neonatal mortality with education, epidemiology, development of specific equipment and specific projects Kangaroo Care, and sanitary organisation, in Eastern Europe and mainly in Western Africa. I am secretary of a mall humanitarian association 4earlylife.
