Marine Maupérin

The building bricks of cell junctions

After obtaining a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the AV¶ÌÊÓƵ of Reims in France, Marine continued her studies with a master's degree in biology and health at the same institution. Driven by her passion for science, she pursued a PhD at the AV¶ÌÊÓƵ under the supervision of Professor Sandra Citi. Her research focuses on the role of gamma-actin, a cytoskeletal protein, in the organization and maintenance of cell junctions, which are crucial for connecting epithelial cells but can become disrupted during cancer. In her free time, Marine enjoys the mountains, where she skis, hikes, and rides her motorbike.
