Passing the baton: how cells pass on their blueprint to the next generation

Jérôme completed his bachelor's degree in Geneva, where he developed a passion for molecular genetics, particularly the complex mechanisms of genetic regulation and molecular pathways. This interest led him to pursue a master’s degree in Lausanne, focusing on the molecular pathways involved in autophagy, a critical process for cellular maintenance and homeostasis. He is now back in Geneva, working towards a PhD. His research aims to uncover how the position of the centromere - a vital chromosomal structure - affects genetic inheritance and chromosomal stability across generations. Outside the lab, Jérôme enjoys hiking, skiing, and socializing with friends over drinks.
