[930] HIV/AIDS

HIV/AIDS, Comorbidities, and Sexually Transmitted Infections Research Unit

We are a diverse, passionate, and committed team engaged in health research, aiming to transform health challenges into innovative and sustainable solutions.

Unwavering commitment to clinical and epidemiological research

Our research Unit plays a key role in the Swiss HIV Cohort Study (SHCS), a major initiative launched in 1986 to better understand the evolution of the HIV epidemic in Switzerland. In Geneva, we are honored to coordinate this landmark cohort while conducting several projects within it. We are  developing national and international clinical trials aimed at improving the management of chronic viral diseases such as HIV, SARS-CoV-2, and the MPOX virus. For all of these studies, we ensure participant safety and data integrity by strictly adhering to Good Clinical Practices (GCP) in research and maintaining the highest ethical standards.

A comprehensive and personalized approach for each patient

At the heart of our mission is a comprehensive and personalized approach to the care of people living with HIV. Through a multidisciplinary approach, we provide advanced medical care coupled with innovative clinical research. Our specialized cohorts, including the LIPO Group and the Senior LIPO Group, focus on addressing metabolic complications and age-related comorbidities, demonstrating the effectiveness of our integrated care model.

International partnerships for a global public health impact

Our collaborations with world-renowned organizations such as Médecins Sans Frontières, WHO, and other international research agencies allow us to extend our expertise beyond borders. These partnerships enhance our ability to address major global public health challenges while offering unique opportunities for international training and collaboration.

Innovations and strategies for a healthier future

Our ongoing commitment to clinical and epidemiological research goes beyond improving treatments for people living with HIV. We also focus on evaluating innovative, community-based strategies to anticipate and tackle global public health challenges. Together, we are building a future where healthcare is accessible to all, personalized, and at the forefront of technological advancement.
