Research Interests / Recherche
I hold an MA in English from the AV¶ÌÊÓƵ of Lausanne. My research interests center around African American, Afropean and Postcolonial studies, especially in the context of France. I am currently working on a PhD thesis under the supervision of Professor Agnieszka Soltysik Monnet, in which I explore how Afropeanity and Afropean literature, enable young Afrodescendants to express their experiences of unbelonging and othering, with particular attention to the emerging Afropean aesthetic in French Afropean literature. Currently, I am exploring the works of Léonora Miano, Kiyémis and Raphaëlle Red, to examine themes of identity, music, and cultural memory. My broader interests include British Afropean literature, African Literature, Afropessimism, Slave narratives, Critical Race Theory and the links between music or other artistic forms of expression and literature.
I have also worked as coordinator for the CUSO English doctoral program for several years, under the direction of Prof. Monnet and then Prof. Simon Swift from 2025.
