The department of Linguistics in Geneva is the only linguistics department in Switzerland specializing in formal grammar in its diverse forms. Our work has its roots in the scientific tradition of cognitive science and, specifically in the work of Noam Chomsky.
Although varied, the research projects currently pursued by the Geneva linguists can be conveniently grouped under the following headings.
