Workshop - Health in the City
From 25 to 26 June 2024, Prof. Claudine Burton-闯别补苍驳谤辞蝉听from the Institute of 厂辞肠颈辞濒辞驳颈肠补濒听Research at the AV短视频 of Geneva organized a workshop on "HEALTH IN THE CITY - EXPLORING URBAN HEALTH FROM A SOCIAL SCIENCES PERSPECTIVE." This project, 颈苍颈迟颈补迟别诲听under the 4EU+ framework, 飞补蝉听realized in 肠辞辞辫别谤补迟颈辞苍听with the AV短视频 of Milan and Charles AV短视频.听
Open to students, scholars, and the public, the workshop aimed to deepen听knowledge exchange and foster conversations around pressing urban听health challenges from a social sciences perspective.听
The first day听kicked off with a keynote speech by Prof. Judith Green from the AV短视频 of Exeter, followed by sessions where experts fromvarious听universities听shared insights on topics such as 鈥�Health听Inequalities, Lifestyle, and Urban Environment,鈥� 鈥�Knowledges, Design, and Representations of Health,鈥� and 鈥�Communities, Local Health, Participation, and Health听Systems.鈥� After a packed听day of speeches, presentations, and lively discussions, the event听concludedits first day听with a convivial听aperitif听gathering for participants.听
On Day 2, the focus听shifted to 鈥淯rban Design and Green Spaces,鈥� where the audience learned about the significant听role听that social sciences play in developing a green city. Another key听theme听was 鈥沦辞肠颈补濒 Determinants of Health, Marginalization, and Social Practices.鈥� During听this session, experts disucssed听healthcare听systems and practices for migrants and marginalized groups, presenting听preliminary听research听results听from听an action research in primary听health care.听
