Parallèles publie des travaux inédits et de haute qualité dans les domaines de la traduction, de l’interprétation et, plus généralement, de la communication multilingue ou multimodale. La revue est en libre accès, fondée sur l’évaluation par des pairs et indexée dans les bases de données scientifiques de premier plan.

Ce texte s'inscrit dans des débats actuels en sociolinguistique, où s'affrontent différentes écoles de pensée autour d'enjeux épistémologiques fondamentaux. Cet ouvrage, coordonné par des collègues de l'Université d'Alabama, remet en cause l'idée, assez répandue en sociolinguistique critique, que les langues sont objets (ou victimes) de phénomènes de "commodification".

La nature joue un rôle prépondérant dans la nouvelle « Romeo und Julia auf dem Dorfe », écrite par Gottfried Keller, un auteur suisse, en 1856. Elle se manifeste à plusieurs niveaux du récit (intrigue, structure, symbolique), de sorte que sa portée peut y être analysée sous la forme de voix associées à la voix narrative. Le présent chapitre expose dans quelle mesure ces diverses voix se répercutent dans les cinq principales traductions françaises de la nouvelle, qui s’échelonnent entre 1864 et 1949.

This study focuses on Swiss, UK and Spanish online news about a violent event. Using stylistic and multimodal analysis, it demonstrates how the headlines and accompanying visual material of articles appearing on the first day of the news cycle « translate » the event as newsworthy and as a terrorist act, and highlights differences between the news outlets’ approaches.

The development of online interactive resources for interpreter training has been at the centre of the agenda in terms of pedagogical assistance and cooperation both for the European Institutions and for their partner universities. The European Parliament-funded ERITON project was launched in 2014 with the aim of facilitating the dissemination of best practices and enhancing collaboration between EU and non-EU partner universities in the field of conference interpreter training. This paper presents the pedagogical framework of virtual classes and discusses the results of an online survey conducted from 2015 to 2017 among students who actively participated in the virtual classes held within the ERITON project. The results show that the new medium was well received and appreciated by respondents, especially since it gave them the possibility to interact in ways and with people that would otherwise be impossible.

Cet article s’attache à étudier l’évolution d’une scène d’Incendies de Wajdi Mouawad, après son passage du français à l’italien et son transfert d’un support textuel à un support visuel. Il analyse, dans un premier temps, la traduction de Caterina Gozzi et, dans un second temps, la mise en scène de Renzo Martinelli, afin de proposer une réflexion sur la perception modifiée du rapport entre deux des personnages de la pièce pour un lectorat ou un public italophone.

This qualitative study aims to explore how a Facebook group chat amongst students of the AV短视频’s master’s programme in Conference Interpreting contributed to learning. The content of the group chat among five students was analysed and complemented by semi-structured interviews. Findings indicate that the group chat is used for study-related content and social conversations and that a (sub-)community of practice has developed among the five students. Findings also show that they think the group chat contributed to their success in the master’s programme, both through the close and friendly relationships fostered and academically, although to different extents.
