Research :

I am an enthusiastic environmental researcher with a background in biochemistry, currently pursuing a PhD in Environmental Biogeochemistry and Ecotoxicology. My research focuses on the transformations of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) by phytoplankton species. To elucidate the biotransformation mechanisms of AgNPs, I investigate their bioaccumulation by phytoplankton, their impact on algal cellular metabolism, and the subsequent influence of phytoplankton on nanoparticle stability. Using a combination of biochemical assays, analytical chemistry, and advanced microscopy techniques, I explore AgNP-phytoplankton interactions at multiple scales. Understanding how algae process these pollutants is key to assessing their environmental impact and the potential for transfer through the food chain, ultimately affecting higher organisms, including humans.

Outreach :

Animator of the Mission Plancton activity at Enviroscope. Through hands-on experimentation with live microalgae cultures, primary and secondary school students explore the impact of everyday chemical substances on the life of planktonic organisms.
