Professor SHI Jiayou
SHI Jiayou holds a doctorate in law from the AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne) and Renmin AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ of China. He is an associate professor in private law at Renmin AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ of China, Executive Director of the National Center for Research on Civil and Commercial Law and Director of the Center for Research on Legal Systems in French-speaking Countries. He has been a visiting professor and co-supervisor at several European and North American universities, such as the AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Paris II, the AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Paris VIII, the AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Perpignan, the AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Toulouse, the AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Ottawa, and Laurentian AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ.
As well as authoring four works (including "La codification du droit civil chinois au regard de l'expérience française", published by LGDJ in 2006) and some forty articles, Prof. SHI Jiayou is also a member of the expert committees set up by the China Law Society in 2016 to draft new sections in the Chinese Civil Code pertaining to contract law and personality rights.
