Launched in 2020, the Fondation Lombard Odier Prize for Academic Excellence in Philanthropy awards the best academic papers in Philanthropy.

 

The second edition (2022) was dedicated to Social Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy:

  • First category prize - to honour the best paper on the fundamentals of jurisprudence regarding social enterprises, benefit corporations and B Corp certification;
  • Second category prize - to honour the best paper concerning the status of purpose-driven companies in a particular national context.

 

Congratulations to the winners of the 2022 edition of the Fondation Lombard Odier Prize(s) for Academic Excellence in Philanthropy

In the first category:

Prof. Antonio Fici, AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Rome “Tor Vergata”, Italy, for his paper entitled Models and Trends of Social Enterprise Regulation in the European Union”.

In the second category (ex aequo):

  • Prof. Jian Li, Minzu AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ of China (MUC), China; Prof. Meng Zhao, Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ (NTU), Singapore ; and Caiyun Xu, Minzu AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ of China (MUC), China, for their paper entitled “Social enterprises and benefit corporations in China”.
  • Dr. Livia Ventura, AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), U.K.; LUISS Guido Carli Law Department, Rome, Italy, for her paper entitled “Social enterprises and benefit corporations in Italy”.

The prizes were publicly awarded during the public conference "Social Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy- Mobilizing Resources for the Public Good" on 8 June 2022 at UNIGE.
