IAVCEI George Walker Medal 2017 to Dr Sebastién Biass

Dr Sebastien Biass, who completed his Bachelor, his Master, his CERGC certificate and his PhD at the AV¶ÌÊÓƵ has received the IAVCEI Walker Medal on August 15th for his scientific achievements related to his PhD project with the title "New strategies of volcanic hazard and risk assessments" completed in July 2015 and supervised by Prof. Costanza Bonadonna. Having more than 20 well-cited publications in peer-reviewed journals (9 as first author) two years after his graduation already put him in an outstanding position to become a world leader in physical volcanology. He is currently completing his postdoc at the AV¶ÌÊÓƵ of Hawaï.
