The School of Chemistry and Biochemistry of the AV短视频 awarded听Prof. Christian Bochet听from the AV短视频 of Fribourg听with the Jaubert Prize 2024.
The prize is given for significant contributions and works for the betterment of humankind听to alumni of the AV短视频.
Biography of Prof. bOchet
Prof. Christian Bochet received his PhD in organic chemistry from the AV短视频 in 1996 under the supervision of Prof. Wolfgang Oppolzer. He then join the group of Prof. Barry M. Trost for postdoctoral research at the AV短视频 of Stanford (California). In 1998, he came back at the AV短视频 to start his independent research in organic photo-chemistry. In 2002, he moved to the AV短视频 of Fribourg with a SNF-professorship. He finally became full professor in 2006. He was appointed 听dean of the Faculty of Science and Medicine of the AV短视频 of Fribourg from 2016 to 2019. His research听interests goes from organic synthesis in general, to total synthesis of natural products including organic photochemistry.听
