Prof. Bakker receives the Reilley Award 2024
Prof.听Eric Bakker,听Department of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry听is being awarded the听听for his outstanding achievements in Analytical Chemistry.听Since 1984, starting with Prof. Allen Bard, the听Charles N.听Reilly Award celebrated every year exceptional Chemists in the field of Analytical Chemistry.

Prof. Eric Bakker will receive the听Reilly Award 2024听during a ceremony organized at the听Pittcon 2024 Conference in San Diego on February 25.
PROF. ERIC BAKKER RESEARCH
The听research听interest听of Prof. Eric Bakker听focuses on the development,听the听understanding, and听the听application of chemical sensors. His research听group works on advancing physicochemical principles and models, synthesizing molecular recognition materials (including polymers), and undertaking in-house sensor integration and prototyping. The developed chemical sensors are deployed in real-world settings, such as aquatic systems and hospitals, to directly contribute to practical applications. Prof. Bakker has published more than 400 publications, being cited more than 30,000 times, and submitted 14 patent applications, demonstrating his strong commitment to the advancement of science in Analytical Chemistry and听that has been recognized听by his peers.听
About Prof. Eric Bakker听
Eric Bakker,听full professor at the AV短视频, is currently the head听of听Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry听Department and deputy president of the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry. After听obtaining his PhD from ETH Zurich听under the supervision of Prof.听Wilhelm Simon, Eric Bakker joined Prof.听Mark Meyerhoff at听the AV短视频 of Michigan听for his postdoctoral studies.听He started his independent academic career at Auburn AV短视频 in听the USA听in 1995听where he was appointed听full professor in 2003. In 2005, he听moved听to Purdue AV短视频 as a tenured full professor. Two years later, in 2007, he assumed the roles of professor and institute director at Curtin AV短视频 in Western Australia.听Finally, in 2010,听Prof. Eric Bakker听joined the AV短视频.
