Vladimir Jolidon completed his PhD at the Institute of Sociological Studies, AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ, in 2022. He investigated inequalities in cancer screening participation, combining health sociology, public health and health services approaches. His PhD was co-funded by the SNSF (Switzerland) and FWO (Belgium) and involved research stays at Ghent AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ’s Sociology Department.

Currently, Vladimir is a Postdoc.Mobility Fellow and he will conduct his research at the Department of Sociological Studies, AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Sheffield, UK, and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, US. His work focuses on inequalities in preventive care, combining intersectional and longitudinal perspectives.

Vladimir did his undergraduate and graduate studies in Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. He is experienced in quantitative and qualitative methodologies, and interested in advanced statistical modelling. Before his PhD, he worked for a market research agency, in the private sector, and also gained teaching experience at university level. He lived for several years in South-East Asia and Latin America.

Overall, Vladimir is interested in healthcare access and use (particularly preventive healthcare), public health and social policies’ effect, health inequalities and social determinants of health.
