Étudiant de master à la Faculté des sciences, Andrei Zhauniarovich a reçu le Prix du meilleur mémoire de Master 2024 en biologie chimique. Cette distinction lui a été attribuée pour sa recherche intitulée «Exploring the Landscape of Tubulin Post-Transitional Modifications: Interplay Between α-tubulin Polyglutamylation and Detyrosination».

Dans ses travaux, Andrei Zhauniarovich a mis en œuvre une approche semi-synthétique pour étudier l’interaction entre deux modifications post-traductionnelles réversibles de la tubuline (protéine structurale des microtubules, un constituant majeur du cytosquelette responsable de la forme des cellules): la détyrosination et la polyglutamylation. Ces travaux lui ont permis de mieux comprendre comment la polyglutamylation de la tubuline affecte la détyrosination, des résultats qui soulignent l’importance de l’interaction entre les modifications post-traductionnelles des protéines.

Andrei Zhauniarovich a effectué des études en chimie des composés médicinaux à l’���Ծ������������é d’États de Biélorussie, avant de rejoindre l’UNIGE en 2022.

Master's student at the Faculty of Science, Andrei Zhauniarovich received the 2024 Best Master's Thesis Award in Chemical Biology. This distinction was awarded for his research entitled Exploring the Landscape of Tubulin Post-Transitional Modifications: Interplay Between α-tubulin Polyglutamylation and Detyrosination.

In his work, Andrei Zhauniarovich used a semi-synthetic approach to study the interplay between two reversible post-translational modifications of tubulin (the structural protein of microtubules, a major component of the cytoskeleton responsible for cell shape): detyrosination and polyglutamylation. This work has enabled him to better understand how polyglutamylation of tubulin affects detyrosination, results which underline the importance of the interaction between post-translational modifications of proteins.

Andrei Zhauniarovich studied medicinal compound chemistry at Belarus State AV����Ƶ, before joining UNIGE in 2022.
