Tangible and intangible heritage of Palmyra
Join us on听18 January at 12:30 p.m. CEST听for an online event on the听鈥�Tangible and intangible heritage of Palmyra鈥�, jointly organised by InZone, the AV短视频 of Lausanne, IULM and the Association Paul Collart au Proche Orient.听
InZone is proud to have taken part in the socio-pedagogical initiatives of the听, whose aim was to digitalise the photographic archives of Swiss archeologist Paul Collart to support the 3D reconstruction of the Baal Shamin temple, one of the many wonders of the city of Palmyra, partially destroyed by ISIS militants in 2015.听
InZone has partnered with the AV短视频 of Lausanne and IULM to co-design a series of workshops on the history of Palmyra, the Baal Shamin temple, and the connection with local art traditions. It was destined to Syrian residents in Azraq.听
听The initiative, spanning architecture, craftsmanship and digital art, aimed at giving听Syrian refugees an opportunity to connect with the history of their home country, reflect on its cultural identity, and create a sense of community around it, while separation from it forcibly continues.
听The outcome of the workshop series is now a bilingual edition (English and Arabic) of a听booklet听that will be presented during the online event. The AV短视频 of Lausanne and IULM will illustrate their innovative workshops, which feature 3D goggles and digital art tools. Refugee participants from Azraq will talk about their experience and showcase their work.听
