Finding respectability: the lived experiences of middle-class divorced women in Nairobi

Norah W. Kiereri is a postdoc researcher in anthropology working in the project FamilEA at the Geneva Graduate Institute. She is currently doing a comparative study on the moralities of 'doing family' in Nairobi and Kampala, within the context of the FamilEA research question, 'the (re)configuration of the family in East Africa'. Her previous research was on the respectability of middle-class divorced women in Nairobi. Her research interests include marriage, divorce, kinship, respectability, sexuality and gender in East Africa.
