President Donald Trump will announce on May 12 whether the US will renew Iran's Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).ÌýIn this context of uncertainty, the conference of Professor Jubin Goodarzi (Webster AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ, Geneva) will be devoted to the consequences of this agreement on Iran's foreign policy in the Middle East.ÌýHis presentation will focus on the possible implicationsÌýthat denouncing the agreement could haveÌýin the region.

Le président Donald Trump fera savoir le 12 mai si les Etats-Unis reconduiront l'accord sur le nucléaire iranien (Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action, JCPOA). Dans ce contexte d'incertitude, la conférence du professeur Jubin Goodarzi (Webster AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ, Genève) sera consacrée aux conséquences de cet accord sur la politique étrangère de l'Iran au Moyen-Orient. Son intervention portera sur les possibles incidences dans la région qu'entraînerait la dénonciation de l'accord.

Jubin M. Goodarzi is Associate Professor and Deputy Head of the International Relations Department at Webster AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ Geneva in Switzerland.ÌýÌý He was previously a consultant and political adviser on Middle Eastern affairs for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva.Ìý He has also worked with a number of US and UK research institutes and foundations, including the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, DC, the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) in London, and the Ford Foundation in New York. Dr. Goodarzi is author of Syria and Iran: Diplomatic Alliance and Power Politics in the Middle East (London: I.B. Tauris, 2009), and numerous articles and book reviews on the international relations of the Middle East.Ìý He holds a B.A. in International Studies from the American AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ, a M.A. in Arab Studies from Georgetown AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ, and a doctorate in International Relations from the London School of Economics (LSE).
