The Data Science Management Process
In a previous article, Dr. Diego Kuonen, professor of data science at the Geneva School of Economics and Management; with Dr. Roger W. Hoerl and Thomas C. Redman, proposed a way of better aligning data science teams and business teams.
Their latest article builds on that structural solution by addressing the issues associated with managing the process at an enterprise level. Managing the process requires, at a minimum, proper organizational structure as well as the right people in place within this structure and the right set of core tasks. The authors visualize the data science management process as a continuous loop, involving five core tasks.
