Eva Cantoni nominated to serve on the Board of Directors of the European Regional Section of the International Association for Statistical Computing

Professor Eva Cantoni has been appointed to serve to the Board of Directors of the European Regional Section (ERS) of the International Association for Statistical Computing (IASC) for the period 2024 to 2028.

The IASC, founded in 1977, seeks to advance global interest in statistical computing and to promote the exchange of technical knowledge through international collaboration between statisticians, computing professionals, organizations, institutions, governments and the general public. The European Regional Section of the IASC, with its own governance, focuses on fostering European co-operation by organizing events like COMPSTAT conferences and summer schools to promote statistical computing in Europe.

Eva Cantoni is Full Professor at the Research Center for Statistics of the GSEM. She has a particular interest in robust statistics, variable and model selection, nonparametric regression, mixed models and models for data with excess of zeros.
