The GSEM’s research seminars and presentations return
As the start of the new academic year gets underway, the Geneva School of Economics and Management’s comprehensive range of seminar and workshop series resumes. These sessions provide and promote discovery and exchange opportunities on current research in the fields of economics, econometrics, management, statistics, and finance.
Representing the Faculty's areas of expertise, the research institutes invite renowned academics as well as faculty members, researchers, and scholars to present their latest research and work.

Institute of Management
Brown Bag seminars offer a wide range of topics that represent the diversity of research being conducted in management. The Institute of Management also organizes roundtable seminars for doctoral candidates to provide advice and guidance on their studies, future opportunities, and managing the transition between the two. The upcoming seminar on 4 October is by David Seidl (AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Zurich) whose research findings contribute to the literature on Open Strategy and on organizational discourse.
Research Center for Statistics
Researchers from the AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ and other institutions present their current work. These seminars may focus on methodological or applied approaches. GSEM Postdoctoral Researcher Frank Roettger will present his work on September 30.
Geneva Finance Research Institute
The Institute's team consists of researchers and professors who engage in knowledge transfer activities through weekly seminars. Upcoming seminars in October include those of Jaroslav Borovicka (NYU) and Federico Bandi (Johns Hopkins).
Institute of Economics and Econometrics
The Institute holds weekly research seminars and Brown Bag meetings. New Assistant Professor at the GSEM Vera Chau, will present her research, and Fanny Henriet (Paris School of Economics) will discuss the extraction of oil and its carbon misallocation.
In addition, the Institute of Economics and Econometrics is involved in the organization of the Geneva Trade and Development Workshops on cutting-edge research in the field of international trade and development. Their program is available online:
