The Innovation Debate 2025

The GSEM'sCenter for Innovation & Partnerships,the Geneva Innovation Movement, and Giga are organizing“The Innovation Debate”, an annual event that aims to debate difficult organizational innovation questions.

Asthedigital world rapidly advances, so doesthequestion of how to best prepare our workforce for tomorrow. Should Geneva, renowned for its international policy expertise, shift its focus toward developing technical skills in coding, data science, and technology development to remain competitive ontheglobal stage? Or shouldtheemphasis remain on digital ethics, policy, and regulation, where Geneva already has considerable influence?

Four high-level managers from across public, private, and international organizations will debate the 2024 motion:“Geneva’s strength in the next decade will be enhanced by fostering technological expertise, coding, and data science skills rather than prioritizing digital ethics, policy, and regulatory knowledge.”

The debate is designed to spur discussion around controversial ideas.

- The evening will be moderated by GSEM ProfessorTina Ambos,GSEM Professor Diego Kuonen as the discussant, and Nadine, Social Robot Miralab, from the AVƵ
