Cyrille Vallet elected member of the UNECE Transboundary Water Convention

We are pleased to announce that PhD researcher Cyrille Vallet of the GEDT has been elected to serve on the Implementation Committee of the Convention by the Meeting of the Parties to the UNECE Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes. His term runs until 2030.

The Implementation Committee plays a crucial role in facilitating, promoting and safeguarding the implementation, application, and compliance with the Transboundary Water Convention. It contributes to strengthening the implementation of the Convention through information gathering, issuing recommendations, and analysing the outcomes of reporting exercises under the Convention. It has contributed to the promotion of the Convention worldwide.

Nous avons le plaisir de vous informer que le doctorant Cyrille Vallet, rattaché au GEDT, a été élu membre du Comité de mise en œuvre de la Convention par la Réunion des parties à la Convention sur la protection et l’utilisation des cours d’eau transfrontières et des lacs internationaux, à sa dixième session. Son mandat court jusqu’en 2030.

Le Comité de mise en œuvre joue un rôle crucial dans la facilitation, la promotion et la sauvegarde de la mise en œuvre, de l’application et du respect de la Convention. Il a contribué à renforcer la mise en œuvre de la Convention par la collecte d’informations, l’émission de recommandations et l’analyse des résultats des exercices de rapport au titre de la Convention. Il a contribué à la promotion de la Convention dans le monde entier.
