Demos and resources
The Department of Translation Technology (referred to by its French acronym TIM) has participated in several national and international research projects. You will find below some of the most recent demos and resources developed during our projects.
Project: ACCEPT
The ACCEPT project focus on implementing new methods to improve statistical machine translation of community texts and user-generated content. In particular, the project aims to measure the impact of three methods: pre-editing, post-editing and SMT improvement strategies (for example, for domain adaptation). The forums used are those of our project partners: Symantec (technical forums) and Translators Without Borders (medical texts).

Project: CALL-SLT 2
We have developed two versions of the language teaching system CALL-SLT.
- The first version is a translation game for practising vocabulary and grammar. The student is presented with neutral text prompts that have to be realised as spoken utterances. There is content for learning French and English (). Watch a about this version.
- The second version is a dialogue game that uses multimedia prompts and a simple narrative structure. There is so far only content for learning English (). Watch a about this version and try the .

Project: MedSLT
MedSLT is a multilingual spoken language translation system tailored for medical domains. The system is designed to help in situations where no common language between the diagnosing doctor and the patient exists.
