Research

Research in the Laboratory for the Study of Emotion Elicitation and ExpressionÌýstudies the cognitive mechanisms involved in the appraisal of affectively-relevant stimuli, and how these processes elicit emotions, and modulate perception, attention, learning, memory, and decision-making.

Currently, four main research programs are conducted. These research programs aim to empirically investigate the nature and function of relevance appraisal in emotion, how affective phenomena modulate and improve our understanding of human behavior and cognition, the links between emotion and learning, and the emotional processing of olfactory stimuli.
