Johnny is a senior postdoc (maître-assistant) in the group of Prof. Tobias Golling at the Particle Physics Department (DPNC). He is a member of theÌýÌýproject (Robust Deep Density Models forÌýHigh-Energy Physics and Solar Physics), and a member and qualified author of theÌý.

Johnny graduated from the AV¶ÌÊÓƵ of Manchester, UK, with an MPhys in Physics in 2014 and a PhD in Experimental Particle Physics in 2018. During his PhD studies, his research focussed on the relationship between the heaviest particle in the Standard Model, the top quark, and its relationship with the Higgs boson. At the Univ. of Geneva and within the RODEM project, his research focus is on bridging the gap between the machine learning and high energy physics communities. Working on a wide variety of topics in particle physics from the identification of particles in the detector, speeding up the simulation of the ATLAS detector, and measuring fundamental properties with real collision data, applying modern machine learning methods is at the core of all his projects. A particular interest is in the physics driven design of novel machine learning approaches. He is currently the co-convenor of the in ATLAS.
