Julien A. Deonna is associate professor in at the AV¶ÌÊÓÆµ and project leader at the Swiss Centre in Affective Sciences. He currently benefits from a FNS Professorship. He is co-director of , the Genevan Research Group on Emotions, Values and Norms.
Note
Julien A. Deonna works in the philosophy of mind, in particular the philosophy of emotions, on moral emotions and moral psychology. His work reflects the ambition of taking seriously the phenomenological, ordinary language and empirical dimensions of the emotions in the various philosophical discussions in which they are central. In addition to many articles in the area, he is the co-author of In Defense of Shame (OUP, 2011) and The Emotions: a Philosophical Introduction (Routledge, 2012). Recently, he has been interested in discovering what we refer to by the expression ‘being moved’. With his collaborators, he runs three research projects, one on (NCCR, with F. Teroni), one on , and one on the relations between (FNS Professorship).
