This research goes beyond the specificities characterizing the African child protection system to focus on the dynamics of the circulation and translation of children's rights within the African context.Ìý
Through a sociolegal analysis of the Senegalese context, the study seeks to investigate how the circulation and translation of children's rights have shaped the normative framework and institutional practices of child protection in Africa, particularly in Senegal. It also explores how sociolegal and cultural contexts, in turn, contribute to influencing the understanding and perception of children's rights within the global system.Ìý
The analysis highlights the interaction between two forces: a centripetal force, which promotes the globalization of international norms, and a centrifugal force, which illustrates how national and local contexts redefine these norms based on their specificities, thereby shaping a bottom-up translation of children's rights.Ìý
